At the end of this unit, students will have the ability to:

  • Exhibit proper muscle use, alignment and posture appropriate to dance
  • Coordinate a range of small and large movements
  • Execute a combination of steps with transitions in varied dynamics and spatial orientations
  • Demonstrate and refer to steps in combination

7. Write under objectives:

Alignment- the placement of the body’s segments one above the other so that the ear, shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle are as close as possible to a straight line that extends through the top of the head to the floor.

Proper alignment in dance allows for the greatest freedom of movement with the least amount of strain.
